A day with Mommy

The last few months have been really hard for us. I'm pregnant with our fifth sweet baby and though I'm very happy, I haven't had much of a chance to get excited. I've had the hardest round of 'morning sickness' that I've ever had. The fact that Mommy can't move all day, has taken its toll on my sweet kiddos. Mae and Liza have taken on the roll of Mommy, cooking, entertaining, and changing diapers.
Heavy jobs for an eight and six year old.

I'm finally to the point where I feel human in the afternoons. So today we had a calm sweet day of play, crafts, exploring, and loving the fall.

You may wonder why I took a picture of Timmy crying, but if you know Timmy whenever he gets hurt be tries really hard to be brave and not cry to hard. But today his crying out for Mommy and Liza to make it better face was priceless. A moment later he was bandaged up and all better.

(The pictures are not uploading as big as I like, but if you double click on the blog sometimes that makes it better. Sorry.)

Halloween 2013

I know Halloween hasn't officially come yet however our ward had it annual trunk or treat, so in my overworked mind, this holiday is over time to rest before I have birthdays to plan and Thanksgiving.

Each year our nerdy family tries to come up with themed costumes mostly from literature. We've had great success with our fairy tales, peter pan, and Charolette's web. This year Mae begged to be Alice in Wonderland. Keeping my fingers crossed that she wouldn't say NO, I asked Liza if she would be the queen of hearts. Who was I kidding, a chance to be the queen, wear a big red dress, crown, and yell ''Off with their heads!'' Liza was thrilled.
Molly being on the run as usual was a shoe in for the White Rabbit and Timmy took very little convincing to be the Mad Hatter once he saw he got to wear a big hat.
Everyone's costumes were going along terrific until I got to Timmy's. I kept trying, but it just wouldn't come together. Theres just not a high demand for four year olds to be mad hatters.
In all my searching I ran across a Captain America costume at Goodwill for 5.00.
Timmy was thrilled. That's all he wanted to wear.

So I just accepted the fact that we were the Alice cast plus one super hero, Lewis Carroll wouldn't take it to badly. But by a funny happenstance my younger brother Daniel ended up coming with us even though he's in another ward. He gladly took on the manly role for Alice, the Queen, and The Rabbit, to be their Hatter. And then more fun, our cousin Abbie joined our fun that night as well!

And Abbie was a terrific Super Girl, so we had Wonderlanders and superheroes all together for a fun night!
But I'm spent. We still have another party to attend and in my mind that just means more candy in the house making everyone go nutty!
Oh well, I hope they always remember the fun and not the cranky pregnant mommy who so does not want to walk anywhere. Lol!
