"The Ballet of The Halloween Candy Kiddos"

Our church had a fall festival last week, including a trunk or treat. Unfortunately I didn't get many pictures of everyone because I was carrying Liza around the whole time. What I did manage to get was when I was sitting down. And it was the best! But I have to tell this story from the beginning, on the way to the church that night my super pink and frilly ballerina in the back seat would not stop talking about one thing. Her friend Sophia.
"Mommy, isn't Sophia pretty!"
"I love Sophia SO much!"
"Sophia is my BEST friend."
"Sophia is going to be a ballerina just like me, and we are both going to have tutu's, and we are both going to wear PINK!"
I started to get worried, imagining Sophia showing up in a cute black little witches out fit.
So I tried to convince a three year old to be prepared for disappointment in case Sophia did not dress like a matching bottle of pepto-bismol. Has anyone else ever tried to CONVINCE a three year old of something that is the opposite of what they have set their mind too?
I assure you it does not work.
I was informed in a very adult tone that I was incorrect and that Sophia knew how to be a princess/ballerina/fairy, no matter what I thought of her abilities.
We get to into the gym where the tables are set for dinner, and before my brain could register what was happening my ballerina ran off to squeal, hug, and dance around in a circle with another entirely pink, tutu-ed, fairy, (she had wings!)
I was so relieved, Mae was anything BUT disappointed.
Mae and Sophia were inseparable the whole night.
The game of the evening was to hold hands and jump up and down, whilst giggling. Soon little sister had to get into the act. I never thought I'd see a fairy, a ballerina, and a Candy Corn, dance in a circle.
I was like watching "The Ballet of The Halloween Candy Kiddos".
Even while trick or treating they held hands.

"Twas the night before the Elections"

And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political trap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

"On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi"
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note-

IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

Well! This is interesting!

I haven't checked snopes yet to see if this is accurate, but I got it from a friend so here it is, I know we all check our kids candy anyway. ~Becka

There is a new warning put out by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency; Sherwood brand Pirate's Gold Milk Chocolate coins are being recalled due to the fact that they contain Melamine, the ingredient in milk product that has caused many infant deaths in china.

These candies are sold at Costco, as well as many bulk and dollar stores.

Please make sure to check your childrens halloween candy and DO NOT LET THEM EAT THE PIRATE COINS (you know the ones wrapped in the
shiny gold foil) and please let other parents know about this!

Here's a link to a news article about this: http://news.

Pumpkin carving!

Last week for family home evening we carved our pumpkins.

First we went and picked them out from the store, (sorry no pumpkin farm around here.)
Liza went to the prettiest one and Mae HAD to pick out the biggest!

This is kinda a big year for us on account of our years past Daddy was a over the road truck driver and wasn't here for Halloween. And it's really the first Halloween Liza is really noticing whats going on, and Mae has both Liza and Daddy here to share it all with!

I was completely prepared for Mae and Liza both to be too squeamish to touch the pumpkin innards, BUT they never do what I am prepared for! They both dug right in and puled all they could out, it was slippery. Then after dumping it into the bowl they started squishing it in their hands, giggling, and hitting it so it would splatter up in the air! A Mom's worst nightmare: GROSS GIRLS!

By the time they were done Daddy was there ready to do the carving and when he finished up we put the light in and they were amazed that, "there are pickture's in there!"

Fire Trucks!!

We went out for the fire safety awareness day in Central. The girls got stickers, coloring books, and the best of all climbed on the fire engines! the girls had a blast and I'll admit I went a little camera crazy, but they were so thrilled I had to get it.
I had fun too, those firemen where, shall I say it,...On FIRE! HA-HA! J/K!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

"Okay Sis. Mom doesn't know we dumped out all the clothes she put in storage so we could use this boat, so keep it quiet and share this apple with me and we can escape to Neverland and she'll never know!"
"But Mae isn't that Mom taking the pictures?"
"Oh NO! Bail Out! Bail OUT!"

My Everyday Situation

This is so true to life right now! I have this comic up on my fridge, because it defines life in this house to a tea! Now I need a comic of where the mom is trying to pick up the toys and the kids are on the other side of the toy box pulling out everything she just put in there!

Baby Valorie

My best friend Jess had a horrible experience last night. Her baby girl had a seizure then went unconscious. Every one keep Them in your prayers, they've had such a rough time now this happens. I live in SC and they live in Wy and I am going crazy knowing that I cant be right there to help and comfort her and her other three kids.
I took this off her page.

JESSICA:
I am feeling very angry. My husband is in the hospital with my infant. She had a seizure last night, vomited and became unconscious. We rushed her to the ER and they have been doing some tests, x-rays, cat scan.... It could be something as little as a infection or something major. But my husband sent me home. I don't want to be here. I am here because my 3 oldest children need me. They are worried about their sister and it was scary for them to see her like that.

Time has never marched any slower than this and I can feel each tick of the second hand. But I must stay busy. Finish organizing the house....pack bags in case we are transfered to Denver. Call family and let them know. Or maybe not. Maybe I shouldn't call until we know for sure.

I am a nervous wreck. The kids keep asking where baby Valorie is. They want hotdogs for breakfast. I don't want to be here. I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE.

ME:
My prayers are with you Jess, Darel, and Valorie.

This isn't me talking, but it did give me a few ideas for gifts! Hmmmm!

If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong
with you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a
regular workout routine.

Dear Diary,
For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear) purchased a week
of personal training at the local health club for me.

Although I am still in great shape since being a high school
football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to
go
ahead and give it a try.

I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer
named Belinda, who identified herself as a 26-year-old aerobics
instructor
and model for athletic clothing and swim wear.

My daughter seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The
club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.
_____________________________
MONDAY:
Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but found it
was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Belinda
waiting
for me. She is something of a Greek goddess - with blond hair, dancing
eyes
and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!!

Belinda gave me a tour and showed me the machines. I enjoyed
watching the skillful way in which she conducted her aerobics class
after my
workout today. Very inspiring!

Belinda was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was
already aching from holding it in the whole time she was around. This is
going to be a FANTASTIC week-!!
________________________________
TUESDAY:
I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door.
Belinda made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air
then
she put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill,
but I
made the full mile. Belinda's rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I
feel
GREAT-!! It's a whole new life for me.
_______________________________
WEDNESDAY:
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the
counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a
hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to
steer or
stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot.

Belinda was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered
other club members. Her voice is a little too perky for that early in
the
morning and when she scolds, she gets this nasally whine that is VERY
annoying.

My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Belinda put me on the
stair monster. Why the heck would anyone invent a machine to simulate an
activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Belinda told me it would help
me
get in shape and enjoy life. She said some other crap too.
_______________________________
THURSDAY:
Belinda was waiting for me with her vampire-like teeth exposed as
her thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help
being
a half an hour late - it took me that long to tie my shoes. Belinda took
me
to work out with dumbbells. When she was not looking, I ran and hid in
the
restroom. She sent another skinny witch to find me.Then, as punishment,
she
put me on the rowing machine -- which I sank.
____________________
FRIDAY:
I hate that witch Belinda more than any human being has ever hated
any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny,
anemic,
anorexic little cheerleader. If there was a part of my body I could move
without unbearable pain, I would beat her with it.

Belinda wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps!
And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the stupid
barbells
or anything that weighs more than a sandwich.

The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition
teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach
or
the choir director?
________________________________
SATURDAY:
Belinda left a message on my answering machine in her grating,
shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing her
voice
made me want to smash the machine with my planner; however, I lacked the
strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight
hours of the Weather Channel.
________________________________
SUNDAY:
I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go
and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my
daughter (the little brat) will choose a gift for me that is fun -- like
a
root canal or a hysterectomy. I still say if God had wanted me to bend
over,
he would have sprinkled the floor with diamonds!!!

I know this is coming!

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN GUILTY OF LOOKING AT OTHERS YOUR OWN AGE
AND

THINKING, SURELY I CAN'T LOOK THAT OLD. WELL.... YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE.

MY NAME IS ALICE , AND I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM
FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST.
I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA,WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME.
SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY
WITH
THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SOME 30-ODD
YEARS
AGO.
COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY
BACK
THEN?
UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH
THOUGHT.
THIS BALDING, GRAY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE
WAS WAY
TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE.
AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED
MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL .
'YES. YES, I DID. I'M A MUSTANG,' HE GLEAMED
WITH PRIDE.
'WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE?' I ASKED.
HE ANSWERED , 'IN 1975. WHY DO YOU ASK?'
'YOU WERE IN MY CLASS!', I EXCLAIMED.
HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY.
THEN, THAT UGLY,
OLD,
BALD,
WRINKLED,
FAT A**,
GRAY-HAIRED,
DECREPIT
SON-OF-A-***** ASKED,

'WHAT DID YOU TEACH ???'

I know Jess has this on her site, but I was gonna put it up first! My computer went down and she beat me to it, Sneaky!

HOW DO YOU DECIDE
WHO TO MARRY? (Written by kids)

(1) You got to find somebody who
likes the same stuff. Like, if you
like sports, she should like it that you
like sports, and she
should keep the chips and dip coming.
- Alan, age
10

(2) No person really decides before they grow up who they're
going
to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find
out
later who you're stuck with.
- Kristen, age 10

WHAT IS
THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?

(1) Twenty-three is the best age
because you know the person
FOREVER by then.
- Camille, age 10

(2)
No age is good to get married at. You got to be a fool to get
married.
-
Freddie, age 6 (very wise for his age)

HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF
TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?

(1) You might have to guess, based on
whether
they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
- Derrick, age
8

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MUM AND DAD HAVE IN
COMMON?

(1) Both don't want any more kids.
- Lori, age
8

WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?

(1) Dates are for
having fun, and people should use them to get to
know each other. Even boys
have something to say if you listen long
enough.
- Lynnette, age 8 (isn't
she a treasure)

(2) On the first date, they just tell each other lies and
that
usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
-
Martin, age 10 (who says boys do not have brains)

WHAT WOULD YOU
DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?

(1) I'd run home and play
dead. The next day I would call all the
newspapers and make sure they wrote
about me in all the dead columns.
-Craig, age 9

WHEN IS IT OKAY
TO KISS SOMEONE?

(1) When they're rich.
- Pam, age 7

(2)
The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to
mess with
that.
- Curt, age 7 (good point)

(3) The rule goes like this: If you
kiss someone, then you should
marry them and have kids with them. It's the
right thing to do.
- Howard, age 8

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR
MARRIED?

(1) It's better for girls to be single but not for boys.
Boys need
someone to clean up after them.
- Anita, age 9 (bless you
child)

HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET
MARRIED?

(1) There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't
there?
- Kelvin, age 8

And the #1 Favourite
is........

HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?

(1) Tell
your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a
truck.
- Ricky,
age 10
To all my friends, and family, who send me best 'wishes', chain letters, 'angel' letters or other promises of good luck….

NONE OF THAT STUFF IS WORKING!

Could you please just send money, alcohol, xanax, chocolate or gasoline vouchers?

Thank you! Becka

THEY TOTALLY GOT ME AGIN!

As any blogger knows it sometimes takes awhile before you can just get off blogging.
I think my kids are in tuned to the fact that if mommy gets on the computer they can have a rip roarin' good time while she's not looking!

Patience herself would be pulling her hair follicles out by now, I just use it as an excuse to play with the different features of my nifty camera!

Notice: Daddies boots in the middle of the floor, hmmmm, I think he had a part in all this and ran out when he heard me coming. Just Kidding, they were probably trying the boots on for size!

A SPECIAL DAY!

OKAY TODAY IS THE BIGGEST DEAL THIS WEEK CUZ ITS MINE AND TIM'S
SEALING ANNIVERSARY!!!

YEAH ME & TIM!
WE'VE BEEN SEALED FOR ETERNITY FOR FOUR YEARS NOW!

Tim and I were married civilly so that we could move out to Wy. quicker, instead of waiting for him to finish school, get a job, house, etc. So we ended up waiting a year to get sealed. By which time I was pregnant! SO excuse these pictures, I'm FAT, my face is swollen and I dont look very healthy. Tim looks great though! blah, isn't that always the way girls?

Also alot of things went wrong that trip home to georgia , so any happiness radiating from me was knowing that I was going to be with Tim for eternity, and the little peanut in me was going to be with us!

I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER

I LOVE KNOWING THAT I'M ALWAYS GOING TO BE WITH HIM

YOUR STUCK WITH ME FOREVER BUBBA!

MY PARENTS

TIM'S PARENTS

THE MOMMAS & THE POPPAS

TIM'S ONLY SIBLING THAT COULD MAKE IT WAS CINDY, THE OTHER FOUR ALL LIVED TOO FAR AWAY.

THE BISHOP WHO HAD MARRIED US MADE A SPECIAL EFFORT TO BE THERE, I WAS VERY GRATEFUL HE AND HIS WIFE WERE THERE.

THE ONLY CLOSE FRIEND OUTSIDE OF FAMILY THAT CAME WAS MY FRIEND KATRINA, WHOM I'VE KNOWN SINCE WE WERE FIVE YEARS OLD. SHE TOTALLY MADE MY DAY, I DIDN'T THINK ANY ONE WAS COMING!
