I laughed so hard my side hurt!

The 11 Step Program For Those Who Want To Have Kids!!

Lesson 1

1. Go to the grocery store.

2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.

3. Go home.

4. Pick up the paper.

5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2

Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who already are parents and berate them about their...

1. Methods of discipline.

2. Lack of patience.

3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.

4. Allowing their children to run wild.

5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's breastfeeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behavior.

Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have all the answers.

Lesson 3

A really good way to discover how the nights might feel...

1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around the living room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12 pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly. (Eat cold food with one hand for dinner)

2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and go to sleep.

3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again, with the bag, until 1AM.

4. Set the alarm for 3AM.

5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM and make a drink and watch an infomercial.

6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.

7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.

8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.

9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work (work hard and be productive)

Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for 3-5 years. Look cheerful and together.

Lesson 4

Can you stand the mess children make? T o find out...

1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.

2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.

3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.

4. Then rub them on the clean walls.

5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. Wreck it.

6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons. How does that look?

Lesson 5

Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.

1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.

2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 6

Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that.

1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment.

Leave it there.

2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.

3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with your foot.

4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 7

Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent choice). If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat. Buy your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys. Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Lesson 8

1. Hollow out a melon.

2. Make a small hole in the side.

3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.

4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.

5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.

6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine- month-old baby.

Lesson 9

Learn the names of every character from Sesame Street , Barney, Disney, the Teletubbies, and Pokemon. Watch nothing else on TV but PBS, the Disney channel or Noggin for at least five years. (I know, you're thinking What's 'Noggin'?) Exactly the point.

Lesson 10

Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying 'mommy' repeatedly. (Important: no more than a four second delay between each 'mommy'; occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required). Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years. You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Lesson 11

Start talking to an adult of your choice. Have someone else continually tug on your skirt hem, shirt- sleeve, or elbow while playing the 'mommy' tape made from Lesson 10 above. You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

This is all very tongue in cheek; anyone who is parent will say 'it's all worth it!' Share it with your friends, both those who do and don't have kids. I guarantee they'll get a chuckle out of it. Remember, a sense of humor is one of the most important things you'll need when you become a parent!

HA!!!!!

Please.

There are female jokes and there are unisex jokes. Here is a joke I consider a true female joke.

I offer it to you in the hopes that women will love it and men will pass it along to a woman who will love it!

A woman was sitting at a bar enjoying an after work cocktail with her girlfriends when Steven, a tall, exceptionally handsome, extremely sexy, middle-aged man entered. He was so striking that the woman could not take her eyes off him.
This seasoned yet playful heartthrob noticed her overly attentive stare and walked directly toward her. (As any man would.) Before she could offer her apologies for staring so rudely, he leaned over and whispered to her, "I'll do anything, absolutely anything, that you want me to do, no matter how kinky, for $20.00... on one condition..."
Flabbergasted but intrigued, the woman asked what the condition was. The man replied, "You have to tell me what you want me to do in just three words."

The woman considered his proposition for a moment, and then slowly removed a $20 bill from her purse, which she pressed into the man's hand along with her address. She looked deeply and passionately into his eyes, barely concealing her anticipation and excitement, and slowly and meaningfully said....

"Clean my house."

Just cal 911!

I thought all my friends on blogger would enjoy this,
( for those of you on my fb you've probably already seen it.)

SO True,.....

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1)
Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2)
Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3)
Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4)
Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5)
Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6)
That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7)
Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8)
Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying Go To Hell!
(9)
Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

Today

Today when we pulled up to the church building Liza yelled out, "Jesus, Were HOME!"
I guess she thought he should know.

Then this afternoon when I spilled a little milk she put her hands to her cheeks and said, "Oh my GOSH!!" (Trust me it sounded really cute.)

I think she has hit the two year old stage of saying cute surprising things,
I'll never forget the time when Mae was this age and got a pop tent in the mail from her Grandma, when it popped up she screamed, "HOLY COW"!

Or the time when she pooted and looked at me and very proudly announced, " I Daddy!"

I hope I never forget all the funny things they say!

I now want to play with a sling shot!

AND YES THIS GUY DOES LIVE NEAR ME! LOL!

Wal-Mart Scam

I love God's sense of humor

A one in a million smile!

Another great one from overheard in the ward,...

Primary Leader: The Temple is the House of the Lord

CTR boy whispering to his neighbor: If the temple is Gods house, then the church must be Gods garage.

Trying to clean

This was me this morning, I swear little elf's came in last night and trashed the house.

Saturday, January 10, 2009

I need to write,...

...But nothing exciting has happened lately, (that I can talk about anyway.)
No I'm not pregnant,,,,, but our family does have alot of things going on right now that if all goes well might mean some changes. Dont worry good changes.
This is totally a journal entry. I just want to look back and see how good I had it.

But none of this is very interesting to the common reader.
However, my reader's tend to be anything but common.

SO here's a day in the boring life of Becka:

Good-Morning to Ethan! Every morning I look forward to seeing Ethan and his mommy, he's not happy to see his mommy go but as soon as he realizes I have toys, food, and lots of hugs, he's totally fine.

Then its, "Good Morning my Beautiful Girls!"
I seriously want them to remember me saying that every morning.
We go through the typical routine of,
"No you cant have Popsicles for breakfast" and "No were not going to church today so you cant wear your poofy dress yet."

Then we break out the mass destruction toys.
Blocks, puzzles, dolls, cars, books, musical instruments, (including jingle bells & drums), tea party, play food, you name the noisy annoying Leap Frog toy we've got it!
I dont know why Tim says he cant sleep in the morning,.....

Around 9:am my 16 yr. old brother comes over to do his homeschool courses on my computer. But before he can get started, he has to get his wiggles out too. Which means WRESTLE MANIA! Rolling around on the floor is a staple in our household.
(Hiya!, says the little girl who wanted to wear a poofy dress that morning.)

During this time I'm walking through mess dodging all aforesaid activity so that I can get some real cleaning done, the kitchen, bedrooms, laundry, etc.
I'm a real acrobat!

Oh there's a snotty nose grab it! Darn it got away. Wait, there it is! Hold one which kid did I wipe? There's more than one snotty nose.
Wait a sec, did I just wipe the dog's nose too?

I have to start thinking about what I'm going to make for lunch @ 11:00 so it will be made by 12:00, otherwise I'm scrambling around with hungry screaming kids at my feet by 12:05!!!
The teenager "needing" food is right there with them.

While they eat they just get so worn out from watching mommy run around that sometimes they just zonk out right there at the table.
So after cleaning all sticky concoctions, created with the once upon a time beautiful lunch set before them from in between pudgy little fingers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

ITS NAP TIME! YIPPEE!

Mae I dont want to see you in another outfit again!

Liza and Ethan go down really well, and then its my one-on-one time with Mae.
She and I do her "school work". Which consists of lots of crafts (thought up by mommy earlier that morning.) And her workbooks that she just LOVES!
(F.Y.I. Next week were making ants out of egg cartons, I know everyone remembers doing that, FUN!) I think I get as excited about her school as she does. Mae and I get about an hour to an hour and a half together.

Mae did you just change clothes again?

Then Daddy wakes up! I know what your all thinking, why is he sleeping all day? Well when a guy works till 3 or 6:am, I tend to let him snooze in a little. Then of course Liza & Ethan are up and everyone wants to play with Daddy! Of course he's still kinda half dead walking around but they dont care, they follow him around from the instant he gets up, they get kinda perturbed when he wont let them follow him into to bathroom.

DOwa! DOwa! DOwa! DOwa! (For the record, I hate Dora the explorer.)

"Mommy?"

"yes?"

"I want to go to Grandma's house."

"We cant honey she lives two hours away."

"Then I want to go to Nonnie's house."

"We cant."

"Why?"

"Look! Did I just see a flying pony?!?!?!"

"Where! ,,,,,Mom, where are you, MoooooooM! Where did you go?"

"Look Mae! Play-doh!"

"Oh, thanks Mom!"
Distraction, my best ally.

Now is the hardest part of my day. The day is coming to a close and I still have so much to do! But yet I'm SO exhausted! I want to do so much but I'm trapped in this stupid teeny tiny house, with no money to go out and do what I'd like anyway.

Mae quit changing clothes and pick an outfit!

I cant think of that anymore so we all go outside to play.

Someone is crying,,,,,never mind were just having a diplomatic discussion over who the toy belongs to.

Run Becka Run! The phone is ringing for the tenth time today! Run, OUCH! Dont worry about your bruised shin, walk it off! Be a Mom!

On the phone with the important insurance agency, when AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! Screaming coming from the kitchen! Time to play referee again, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE. I say the word all the live long day!
I'm tempted to just say, duke it out kids! (I've got ten bucks Liza wins,,,,)

Off the phone, kids are fine, bad behavior was rewarded with Popsicles to keep them quiet.

Holy Crap! Its 5:00 and I haven't set anything out to thaw for dinner yet! Nothing is going to thaw in an hour, but maybe with my Jedi mind powers I can make it! So I try.

Okay, so mind Jedi tricks only work on Tim not the pot roast.
Looks like another veggie night for us!

"uuuuuummm, mommy, I forgot."

"Forgot what?"

"Forgot to go potty."

"Dont worry honey, robot Mommy has been programed to wash five loads of laundry a day."

(Mae changes again.)

After Ethan goes home, Liza starts saying Me-Mo-Me-Mo-Me-Mo! Which in translation means Nemo, so while I make dinner I repeat the entire movie line for line along with the T.V. I dont know why the kids want to watch it, I could just say the whole thing out loud for them.

After hugs and kisses for Daddy he goes off to work. Then we girls eat our awesome vegetarian spur of the moment dinner, with cookies on the side.

When she can my sister will bring a chick flick and some chocolate and come over. Ahhhh, the part of the day I look forward too!

Mae you may change into pajamas!

Bath and Brush teeth. An adventure unto itself.

After reading 'Fancy Nancy' twice, 'Where the Wild Things Are' twice, and 'Jesse Bear What Will You Wear' twice, were ready for prayers and goodnight kisses.

"WAAAAA! I ont to be wi Mama an An Sissa!!!!!!"
(Translation; Complaint, I have a request to stay up with you, Mother, and Aunt Lissa please.)

"Mama, I ont bott-l. peeese."
"Yeah Mom can I have a drink too?"
Up and down the stairs I go!

After staying up too late with my date of chocolate, I'm too tired to clean up from dinner.

SO I go to bed. Jump up, CRUD! I forgot the dog!
I have to bring Bullet in from the cold night air, feed him then put him in his indoor kennel.

I finally get to bed, and my mind wanders, I wonder how my best friend Jess is, How Nicole, Kristina, and Fiona are all doing in there pregnancies.
Gee I wish I had a little boy.......

.....WAIT! Am I crazy! I have enough to do!!!!!!

Good night to crazy lady, sweet dreams.

Daddy can do anything!

Watch out I might tag you next!

Back in the beginning of December I was totally blown over to hear that the adorable, victorious, unquenchable, Barbaloot instilled an award on me!
One where I am assigned the task of listing five things I love. But now the month has flown by and I have not lived up to my expectations!
As I never do whats expected of me, I'm going to list five of the most "interesting" things that have happened this month. I hope you find them as interesting as I do.

1)Liza has officially denounced the dog as Bullet. He is now officially, Shut-it.
SHUT-IT GET DOWN! SHUT-IT COME HERE! aw, I wuv yoo too Shut-it!

2)When ever I sing along to the song Little Drummer boy I start to cry always at the line "I played my best for him", little did I know that Mae has been watching me closely and memorized the song. So when we were karaoke-ing at Tim's parents, she was able to get up w/ Daddy and sing it with him! At that line I caught her sneaking a peek at me, she smiled a traitor smile when she saw I was balling! Little twerp.

3)At my Grandmother's beautiful, museum-like, anti-children house, Liza knocked over a antique oil lamp. (One that looked like one the ten virgins would have carried.)
Luckily Daddy caught it before any damaged was done. But a few minutes later I heard a deafening crash from the kitchen.
Looking around I saw my sister about to cry. While she was feeding her some cereal, Abbie (6 months) grabbed the glass bowl and knocked it on the floor.
Everyone was silent for a second, until I threw my fists in the air and said,
"YES! NOT MY KID!"
I consoled my sister by telling her the next story.

4)Mae is just her cover name, her real name is Super Girl. The child has untold strength! For such a cute blonde little girl she is freakishly strong!

My in laws couch is a big thing that has stood the test of time. Both the ends of the couch recline like a lazy boy would. But the middle is just a regular piece of couch.

Daddy was reclined on one end and Pop-pop one the other, Mae wanted to be just like them and sit in the middle and recline. But the darn foot thing wouldn't come up!

So she pulled with all her might until she ripped the sucker off!
Were talking ripped out screws, and torn in half wood!!!!!

She was standing there holding the gargantuan piece of mutilated couch, when Daddy found his voice and full named her very loudly!

She ran to the cover of Grandma who was about to die laughing.
When I finally found my voice I asked her what was so funny?!

She said, "I get a new couch!"

5)I know the next one should be about Liza but I cant leave this out, its classic Mae.

At my Grandparents house our family was reunited with cousins of my Grandfather whom we had not seen since I was about six years old.
They are really sweet awesome people, and I was having fun getting to know them all over again. So I wasn't paying attention when this strange event occurred.

Mae : Hi! What's your name?

Little boy cousin about the same age as Mae: Scooter, what's yours?

Scooter's Grandpa: Oh I know what her name is! Its Bob!

Mae (laughing) : NO!

Scooter's Grandpa: Is it Roy?

Mae: Nooo

Scooter's Grandpa: Is it Bill?

Mae: Nope!

Scooter's Grandpa: Is it Dave?

Mae: NO!

Scooter's Grandpa: Is it Cornelius?

Mae: No way!

Scooter's Grandpa: Well I just cant figure out what it is then! I just don't know! What IS your name?

Mae: You know my name!

Scooter's Grandpa: No I don't, what is it?

Mae: Its Sleeping Beauty of course!

Scooter: Oh okay, Mommy can I go play with Sleeping Beauty?

Unfortunately for Scooter, to this very day, he still believes her name is Sleeping Beauty.

Now I am going to pass the "Major Award" along to others! Aren't you lucky!
This award goes out to Lorena, Nicole, Jess (cuz I know you have nothing better to do), Kristina, Jamie, and Lisa Loo! I love you all!

Her Lovies

I know this doesn't have much to do with Christmas but as I was going through pictures for Christmas, I realized how many "LOVIES" my little 20 month old Liza has!

Our first model is the very sleek and cuddly, beanie baby type kitty cat, determinedly named, "Meow".

The next model is the very "in-style" sheek, awesome, BOPPY!
(History note on the Boppy, Mommy didn't have one with big sister Mae, but made a special point of going and getting one while pregnant with Liza. Who has now deamed it as "hers". Oh my Lord, save us from the war that will erupt when Mommy has another baby and needs the darn thing again!)

As always since day one, Big Sister has always been there to cuddle.

Now for the best most grande, usually dirty, most loved,......BLANKIE!

Daddy's always there as well.

(Note if this picture looks bent to you, dont worry your not crazy, it is in a frame in her room and is very "loved".)

Just looking through photos and finding that my little girl is such a loving caring spirit, I hope she never changes. Even when people inevitably hurt her, I hope she always has the strength to love.
