Baby Timmy

Well here's the story, I think I'm going to have to abridge it because this is one of those very small windows of time that I get while Timmy's asleep. I should be doing laundry but I owe it to my journaling (and all of the blogging fans, j/k,) to get this down.

Timmy was due November 10th, and I was ready and set to have a natural birth. No inductions, or anything else was going to interfere with my baby's birth! Well so much for having a plan! My little mama's boy didn't want to come out. When he was a week over due I drug my sweet little sister and our kids out for the day to walk that kid out of me.

I was huge, my feet hurt, and the kids were in full protest. But Lissa kept up a happy face for me, and we walked around the mall for hours! By the end of the day I was thinking that it was hopeless. When I getting into the car I felt a small pop and something warm.

You guessed it, I broke my water, but only the tiniest bit, little known fact; you can break a little and leak for days! Since it wasn't that big of a feeling I didn't go to the hospital.
But by the next day at church I could feel that I was leaking quite a bit of fluid. A friend off mine who's a doula reminded me that the amniotic fluid is replenished about every two hours, so as long as I kept drinking alot of water, perhaps I could let my body go into labor on its own.

Nothing I telling you NOthing happened! That darn kid wouldn't come on his own!!
So I called my Dr. and she scheduled me for an induction on the 19th.

I was so upset and weepy. Tim just told me that my body doesn't know how to go into labor by itself.
WWWWAAAAAAA! So now my body doesn't know how to be a mommy? On top of being oobber fat, and uncomfortable, that is SO not what I needed to hear.
Call me moody mama.

So moody mama here, totally does not want people looking at her while in pain. I told Tim he was the only one allowed in the delivery room, and even then I might have a Dr. throw him out. J/K.
However I did want my mother and Tim's to come see the baby, and Tim's mother lives in Ga. so we called her up and told her when to be at the hospital explaining that she could come see me for a bit but during the delivery she could go into the waiting room.
She got there right after I was all hooked up to the pitocin and in the bed.

Now lets back up a little, I've had two other inductions, the pitocin made me contract normally then the epidural helped me dialate, then wallah! Baby!

Not going to happen this time!!!!
My body knew what that pitocin was and went into contraction Over-Drive! I had the most painful super strong contractions every minute and a half on the button! I went through this for two and a half hours before I said if you don't give me a pain killer soon I wont have any energy left to push. Now Tim's mom was there for all this,,,,,,THANK GOODNESS! I couldn't have made it through w/o her. Her hands were soft and cool, her touch was gentle, her voice was soothing and she knew the right spots on my back to rub.

They finally gave me the epidural and I got some rest. Then it wore off and we were right back where we were before. I vaguely remember the epidural machine breaking and being in too much pain to do anything about it but Angel going out and demanding they fix it soon!

Then I needed to push, I could feel it, the nurse confirmed it, the Dr. came a'runnin', Angel started to leave,,,,NOOO! I begged her to stay and help me. Now don't think that Tim was absent during this whole thing or that Angel took over for him. She actually was encouraging him to step up and help me more and he was right there trying to be encouraging.
But Tim's way of being a cheerleader is quite literal,
"Come on babe! Push him out! Push him out! WAAAY OUT!"
I feel like I'm at a football game hiking it all down field.
This pain was unlike the other births and I needed more than my regular cheer section.

I think that God knew that and sent me Angel, who was literally holding me up on one side while Tim held me up on the other.

Timothy Stark II was born Nov. 19th at 7pds. 11oz., 20 in.long.

The first thing I noticed was that he was my first baby that had that kind of cone head from being in the birth canal too long, then I felt a little elation when I noticed that he wasn't jaundiced at all! (Both the girls had to have Bili blankets for their jaundice.)

Is it weird to say a boy is beautiful? I don't think so, because I really believe I have a beautiful little boy!

But looking him over he is the perfect little mini-Tim, he looks just like his daddy. I love them both so much, I love too see how much they are alike. Not just in appearance but in personality as well. The girls absolutely adore their little brother.

Another great blessing of the day was my mom, she was able and willing to take care of the girls. So I knew right where they were, that they were being taken good care of and I didn't feel bad about them staying over night. I really am grateful to live near such loving family.

Mae has become quite an expert in changing diapers and getting him dressed, (with supervision of course.) Liza likes to say that he is HER little brother and she is HIS Liza.
They are both anxious to feed him. So at three months old he has already had a taste of pop-sickle, goldfish, ketchup, and suckers.

Sorry if my spelling has been off and I know this post was long, (I had to stop to feed him in the middle of it.) But I got it all down, so later we can read it again and relive the pain, Oh Joy!

And that's why he's called Cliff Hanger!

I dont know why but I keep relating my life to cartoons.
Here's my latest, I just cant seem to get away from my cliff. Normal people call it food. I call it my obsession! I love to cook and create and in so doing I've become very overweight.
I'm shocked I've gotten this big. My family all say "well you've had three kids, its baby weight!"
Then I see friends of mine that have had three or more kids and they dont look like me!
SO I've taken the plunge and joined Weight Watchers. I love it! I'm a nursing mommy so I get more points than normal, and in two weeks I've already lost 5.9 pounds!!!

Hopefully I can let go of that accursed delicious food and land on my feet. Wish me luck.

P.S. I'll post about my new munchkin Timmy later. I know your all "dying" to hear his birth story. j/k!

You gotta fight for your right to..., natural childbirth?!

Okay so according to my Dr. I am officially two day past my due date and it doesn't look like I'm going to be delivering any time soon.
I have had a feeling for weeks now that this was going to be the case. This baby just knows Mommy isn't ready yet.

Yes this past week I have been getting all his clothes and blankets washed and his crib set up. but there are still so many little things I have yet to do!
I need to pack the girls over night bags in case they have to go to Nonnie and Pappy's for the night, and a bunch of other small things that others would think are silly but I dont feel complete without finishing.

And WHY aren't these things finished?

Mainly because I DO NOT move at a normal speed at all anymore, and every time I bend over (or squat down) to pick things up it feels like the baby is just being pushed up into my lungs so I cant breathe!

All of this I can let go. I can just accept that my bathroom is not spotless when I bring him home, I just cant wait to have him home to love on!

My real dilemma right now is my Dr.'s office.

I think my Dr. is AWESOME, I love her! I also love the birthing center where I'll be going.

However, they are completely stuck on the idea that my due date was the 10th.

Now anyone who has done thier research knows that a due date is more of a guess-ti-matte.

Even after an ultrasound you are supposed to give the date a five day leeway, (meaning I could be due on the 15th).

I believe my due date is not until the 15th and to be truly past due would be if I haven't have the baby until the 22nd.

My Dr. went and scheduled me an appointment for an induction for the 19th!!!!!

I know she's worried but shouldn't she see that my body is not progressing into labor and this is my third child, I know what to feel for?

I hate confrontations. I dont want to make her angry, but I think I know my body better than she does.

I DO NOT want to be induced.

So I think I might have to risk making her angry and not show up for the induction on the 19th.

Dum-Dum-Dum!

To Be Continued!......

HA!!!!!

Please.

There are female jokes and there are unisex jokes. Here is a joke I consider a true female joke.

I offer it to you in the hopes that women will love it and men will pass it along to a woman who will love it!

A woman was sitting at a bar enjoying an after work cocktail with her girlfriends when Steven, a tall, exceptionally handsome, extremely sexy, middle-aged man entered. He was so striking that the woman could not take her eyes off him.
This seasoned yet playful heartthrob noticed her overly attentive stare and walked directly toward her. (As any man would.) Before she could offer her apologies for staring so rudely, he leaned over and whispered to her, "I'll do anything, absolutely anything, that you want me to do, no matter how kinky, for $20.00... on one condition..."
Flabbergasted but intrigued, the woman asked what the condition was. The man replied, "You have to tell me what you want me to do in just three words."

The woman considered his proposition for a moment, and then slowly removed a $20 bill from her purse, which she pressed into the man's hand along with her address. She looked deeply and passionately into his eyes, barely concealing her anticipation and excitement, and slowly and meaningfully said....

"Clean my house."

Fun!

Just cal 911!

I thought all my friends on blogger would enjoy this,
( for those of you on my fb you've probably already seen it.)

Timothy the 2nd!

I had a friend tell me the other day that she and her husband don't mind telling people the sex of their babies while pregnant but they don't tell anyone the name they have picked out until the baby is born.
Now maybe I'm just being grumpy preggo lady but my first thought was, "who cares?" Sure your extended family, grandparents would be excited to hear what the babies name is but, casual friends and acquaintances, I think you would irritate them more if you just didn't tell them the sex of the baby, because then they don't know what to get you for a gift.

I don't care if everyone knows what were having, we get so excited about our kids we do nothing but talk about them, ( yes, we are THOSE annoying people.)

My husband, Tim, his full name is for a figure in our church whom we love dearly, and look up to.
For privacy reason's I wont put his whole name on here, but I will say I've always loved Tim's name.

Also, knowing my husband since I was 15 years old , I can tell when he REALLY wants something.

He really wants a Timothy Jr.

I was going to fight it but I saw the 4-d ultra sound and I cant argue that the boy looks just like his daddy.

We did have to come to an impasse though. Living in the south you just cant call a kid Junior or Bubba. You'll no doubt get that one relative who says the name with such a redneck twang you cant stand it.

So were just going to name him after his daddy, and call him Timothy.

As with both the girls I have been fighting a few family members off with annoying nicknames they want to give him. I think the only nicknames that will stick will be the ones the girls give him,
You know like, "annoying little brother"!!!!!

Personally, I still call one of my baby brothers Spud-head.
My poor baby boy! LOL!

Laughter is the best Medicine

In 2006 Tim, Mae, and I lived in a tiny little apartment in Gillette Wy. Having lived there the longest we got to see a fun turn over of neighbors. We became known to everyone in the building as the "Religious People", who if you talked to us we would try to either get you to our church or get you to talk to our missionaries.
Generally that was laughed off because as soon as people met us they realized we weren't TOO scary! Also the fact that Mae was a chubby two year old with golden curls that told EVERYONE she loved them didn't hurt either.

During this time I was pregnant with Eliza, and working a 3:am newspaper route, we really were busting at the seams in that tiny home, and Tim wishing he was in school was working 13-15 hour days. We had no right whatsoever to be happy.

During this time we also had a very sweet, beautiful, American Indian, Grandmother living in the Apartment below us. She had moved to the area to become a nurse at the local hospital. she lived by herself and knowing that any Grandma living by herself would love a two year old, I introduced her to Mae! It was love at first sight of course.

She taught me some yummy new recipes, and I took her to church with me. Needless to say we were good friends.
One day I went down to visit her and she was looking very tired and discouraged.
Her daughter who lived in another state was in trouble with life, and my grandmother friend could not get to her to take care of her.

I offered what words of comfort I could, saying that even though I could not relate to what she was going through I was sure My mother or Tim's mother could. Considering both Tim and I were in Wyoming alone and our parents were living in South Carolina and Georgia!!

She started to laugh! I thought I was being pretty sympathetic and she was laughing! I was confused.
"What's the joke?", I asked.
She replied, " I don't want you to be embarrassed, but from what I can hear through my ceiling, your parents have nothing to worry about!"

HOLY CRUD! I thought. What the heck has she heard?!?!?!

From the look on my face she must have guessed what I was thinking because she hastily said,
" Don't worry, its nothing bad, I just constantly hear ALL of you laughing, and sometimes when the window is open I can hear you say your family prayers.
I think to myself, what can these poor children who are struggling to get by, and have no family near, possibly have to laugh about?"

I started to laugh myself at the irony, and told her more about the church and our wonderful family support through our ward, and that saying our prayers together was one of the many things we did to keep a happy spirit in our home.
We joked some more and Mae and I left her a little more cheerful than we found her.

I was thinking of this story last week as I was laughing at something a friend had posted online.
I thought, "Man it feels good to laugh!"

I then realized I don't laugh as much as I used too.

Why?

Is reality finally catching up to me , as Tim and I work like crazy to make ends meet, we are barely surviving, and like before I'm pregnant and not much help.

I'm not as happy as I was and I don't know why. I think I'm being put through a test to see how I'll handle different circumstances, but the same problems. I'm making a goal to hold my past self (and other great women I know of) up as examples to myself.
Perhaps that will help my disposition and attitude improve.

I want this baby to come out and hear mama's laugh and know what it is.

If the next time you see me laughing and you cant tell why, just think, "she's not crazy, she's happy, and that's what important!"
